Description

Around the star Sigma Pavo there are a few galaxies, the two larger ones are the spiral NGC 6943 and the Barred spiral IC 5052. It is amazing the number of systems around. The fainter one I could identify is ZSFW N6943 a, B magnitude 16.6, but the ESO 74-20 is a pair of interacting galaxies, namely PGC's 65678 and 680. ESO 74-9 or PGC 65445 (quite close to PGC 65441) has a nice shape, but too little to be noticed here. Next time, maybe, I shall try a large tube, perhaps I could get an image from a remote system. This is one of the cases where I like to have the chance of doing remote imaging, accessing a larger scope from one of the services available in several countries.
